If a filescan is executed during the inventory, all drives and all subdirectories of the inventoried computer are standardly searched for .exe, .com and .dll files.
You can control this search pattern by creating the files exclude.cfg and/or include.cfg. Therefore, use simple text files in ANSI format.
If an exclude file exists, the directories and files specified therein will be excluded during the search process.
If an include file exists, the defaults will be suspended and only the directories and files defined in the include file will be searched.

To define these files simply write the directory and file information one below the other into the file.

Examples:
exclude.cfg:
C:windows*.*
C:Programs*.*
This configuration defines that the Windows and programs directory will not be searched.

include.cfg:
C:*.mp3
D:*.mp3
This configuration defines that only the drives C and D are searched for .mp3 files.

The combination of the examples above would have the result, that all .mp3 files that are located in the Windows or programs directory would not be found. Subdirectories are excluded (resp. included) on principle.

The place where these files have to be stored depends on the inventory method:

- DeskCenter Management Service: Installation directory of the Management Service
- DeskCenter Script Inventory: The directory out of which Script Inventory is started
- DeskCenter One Step Inventory: The directory out of which One Step Inventory is started
- DeskCenter SDI Agent: Windows directory of the client computers (resp. subdirectory sdia in the System Manager Installation directory during the installation of SDI Agent)
