Where is a system located? When was a system purchased and how much did it cost? When does the leasing contract for the printer end? Which service partner supervises the system? Answering these questions will usually take a long time. But this time is normally needed for solving the problem. With the help of the DeskCenter Management Suite, you can answer these questions within a few steps.
Asset Management for Systems
For every system you can attach important asset information during the detection.
This includes:
- Contract data (purchase- and maintenance contracts)
- Purchasing and costs
- Depreciation and leasing
- Service staff
- Suppliers and service partners
- Cost centers
- Locations and rooms
- Network segments and ports
- Departments
The DeskCenter System Manager also allows dynamic data changes. E.g., if a location, a room or a cost center is changed, this information is also updated for systems, users and components that are assigned to this asset. Different system numbers (e.g. inventory number) can be assigned to every asset. Thereby, the System Manager supports barcodes.
Asset Management for Components
A multitude of asset data can be attached to components. In the System Manager, components are additional assets – e.g. printers, monitors, active network parts or pocket PCs, telephones, software modules, furniture or any other asset.
To detect printers, you can import them directly from the ADS/NDS. For active components (router, switches or storage), you can select an import function using SNMP.
Components can be linked to a defined system or added as unbound components. Thereby, it is also possible to relocate components to a new system, or to create copies of these components.
User Integration and Import from other Systems
In the DeskCenter System Manager you can link systems or components to users. Thereby, it can be seen any time, which user uses which asset. To reduce the manual effort, asset data can be imported from already existing databases or strange systems.
Comprehensive Reporting
Lease and additional costs can be attached to the asset data for systems and components. Since the ease of use, the DeskCenter Management Suite is a powerful tool for IT service providers or IT outsourcers, especially because analyses can be created within seconds.
The integrated reporting solution offers many possibilities, from creating costs reports to creating customized system overviews, nearly anything is possible. To create reports or queries or to customize already existing reports according to particular needs, an integrated report designer is available to you. Created reports are immediately available to all users. The report data are then saved in the DeskCenter database directly. Therewith, the laborious deploying of new reports to employees can be avoided. Alternatively, the reporting solution can be installed as a stand-alone application. Hence, it allows accessing the analyses without the DeskCenter System Manager.
