Remote Control

Remote desktop is a solution to connect to a remote system. Often users need support while using a software or to solve problems. Remote control is an ideal solution for administrators to manage the desktops and server in a network. This simplifies the remote support considerably.

To meet the specifications for the protection of data privacy or requirements from staff councils, there are different functions for the control of remote access integrated. The user rights offer the possibility to limit remote control or even to ban it. Furthermore, a password can be allocated and the approval of the user can be made necessary for a successful connection.

The DeskCenter Management Suite integrates a powerful remote control on the base of UltraVNC. UltraVNC is an open source project, which is licenced under GPL (GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE).

Distribution of Remote Desktop onto clients

Remote Controle - Deploy the Remote ServiceThe features to deploy the UltraVNC Agent are integrated into the System Management. This means that the UltraVNC service can be installed, configured or uninstalled directly out of the DeskCenter System Manager. Afterwards, a remote connection with the user can be established.

UltraVNC offers a wide range of further features like chat and file transfer.

Remote desktop without installation of agents

Remote Control There is also the possibility to build up a connection to a target system without the installation of an agent. This feature is called "On the fly". Using this, the remote desktop services are not installed permanently on the client system, but transferred and started temporary. When the administrator closes the connections all services are removed.

Thereby, security risks that might occur through a permanent installation of remote services can be avoided. The system Management offers of course even more helpful features for administrators. This includes for example the configuration of network interface cards, the administration of user accounts or the remote management of services and processes.
